Fern M. Bringman, 97, passed away on May 26, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Wood County, Ohio on April 23, 1919 to William and Evalena (Reitzel) Swartz. She graduated from Lake High School. Soon after graduation she married Richard L. Bringman in 1940 who preceded her in death on, July 22, 1976. Fern worked as a cashier for Kroger for many years. She was a life member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Fern was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, enjoyed bowling, antiquing, playing cards and games with her family. What she cherished most was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a woman with a strong faith, loved her family and will certainly be deeply missed by many.
Fern is survived by her children, Bonnie Smith, Mariann Miller, Richard (Vicki) Bringman; grandchildren, Shelli Smith, Missi (Marc) Robinson, Mandie (Steve) Judy, Shannon (Marc) Metzger, Matthew Bringman; adopted granddaughter, Jenny Suszka and her son, Eric (Brittany) Suszka; 7 great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Nicodemus. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Blanche Bonnough, William Swartz; son-in-law, Ken Miller.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 9:00 am until the time of funeral service at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Fern's name are asked to consider St. Mark Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family would like to thank Fern's caregivers, Lindsey, Anna, Drew and Taylor. They would also like to thank Hospice nurses, Elizabeth and Genni for their compassionate care.
