Fern E. Patton, 92, of Walbridge, Ohio, passed away Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 at Orchard Villa Retirement Community.
She was born on November 26, 1918 to Louis and Edith (Pinniger) Baker. On October 11, 1941, she married John W. Patton, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 1982. Fern enjoyed playing the organ and singing in the church choir. She was a longtime viewer of Lawrence Welk and enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas. She enjoyed canning, pickling, and making homemade ketchup. Fern enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends in southern Ohio. She was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church, Walbridge and Unity United Methodist Church, Northwood. Her true passion was preparing great meals for her family when they would come to visit.
Fern is survived by her children, Carol Ann (James) Stewart of Circleville, OH, and John (Judy) of Walbridge; grandchildren, Deanne, Debra, Sean, Ron, and Jason; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Alton, Bernard, Howard, and Harold; sisters, Mildred, Anna, and Betty; great-grandson, Kyle, and dogs, Barney and Snoopy.
Private graveside services will be held in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Unity United Methodist Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
