Obituary

Florence M. Clark, 89, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away, Tuesday, November 27, 2012. Florence was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 26, 1923 to George and Leola (Ives) Pfaff Sr. She was a 1941 graduate of Waite High School. On November 24, 1942, she married Andrew Clark. Florence worked at Lasalle'™s and Sears Department Stores and was a volunteer with the American Red Cross. She was an active member of the Eisenhower and Clay High School Mother'™s Club, where she served as secretary. Florence was a member of the Oregon Fire Station #1 Flamettes Auxiliary, where she served as secretary and president. In later years, she was a volunteer for Riverside Hospital. For many years, Florence was a member of First St. Mark Lutheran Church, where she began a Cherub Choir and later, a Junior Choir. While at First St. Mark, Florence sang in the Senior Choir, served on church council, along with the stewardship committee. Florence continued her spiritual journey as a member of Divinity Lutheran Church where she served on the church council, served on the Evan Ellison Committee, volunteered as an offering counter, was a member of the WELCA, and a member of the Senior Choir. Florence later joined St. Mark Lutheran Church where she remained active in the Senior Choir, was a member of the Sweet Adeline'™s, volunteered with local retirement communities with a singing group, and attended adult education classes. In later years, Florence attended Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Florence was first and foremost a Christian, a loving wife to Andrew, and a devoted mother to her children. Florence is survived by her children; Rick Clark, Shawn Clark, and Mark (Loretta) Clark; grandchildren, Aaron Clark, Bradley Clark, Beth (Erin) Wruble, and Lauranne (Ben) Turski; along with 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Kenneth Brown; husband, Andrew; and brothers, George Pfaff Jr., and Chester Pfaff. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday, November 30th from 2:00pm-5:00 pm and 6:00pm-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 1st at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
