Obituary

Florence Louise Brown, 85, of Oak Harbor, Ohio formerly Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, January 25, 2015. She was born on July 22, 1929 in Toledo, Ohio to parents, William and Ethel Hamilton. Florence married Jack L. Brown on May 18, 1946 and together they raised two daughters and lived life to the fullest. She was his devoted wife and caregiver until his passing in 2006. She passed at peace knowing she would be reunited with the love of her life in God's home. Florence was employed for 40 years as a silk screen operator for Libbey Glass retiring in 1987 and continued enjoying time with her former coworkers through her membership in the Golden Emblem Club. She was also a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Harbor. Florence enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie with Captain Jack and traveling the world together making wonderful memories. Her most cherished time was spent with family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joys in her life. She never missed a sporting event, cheer competition, school event or dance recital. She enjoyed bingo, going to the casino and her black coffee! Her last year was filled with many "first experiences". First ride on a snowmobile, first time ice fishing, first ride in a kayak, first jackpot at a casino and first ride in a Corvette convertible. Everywhere "Flo" went she left her mark with her special kind of humor and even in her last weeks continued to make everyone laugh and smile while passing along her words of wisdom. She will be remembered for always putting her family first and being there to help in any way she could. She is survived by her daughters, Donna J. Patterson of Nixa, Missouri; Debra A. Dunn (Terry Wilhelm) of Oak Harbor, Ohio; grandchildren, Jackie Robb, Brian (Tammy) Patterson, William "Billy" (Chalee White) Dunn, Lindsay (Danny) Bergman; great-grandchildren, Dakota Robb, Katelynne Bergman, Lauren Bergman, Jillian Bergman, and Madalyn Dunn; brother, Frank Hamilton, Arizona and sisters, Darlene Mackenzie, Florida and Carolyn "Blondie" McKenzie, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Charles and Edward Hamilton. Two very important people to Florence were her best friend of over 60 years Patty Krause who she shared a morning phone call with every day and Terry Wilhelm of Oak Harbor, who invited Florence to make his home her final place to live and be cared for. She loved his coffee and "dipping" eggs!! Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 28 at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 29, at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
