Obituary

Florence B. Miller, 97, of Pemberville and formerly of Oregon, OH passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2007 in Otterbein Portage Valley.  Mrs. Miller was born in Monroe, Michigan on February 7, 1909 to Artie and Edith (Bridge) Baker.  She was the widow of I. William Miller.  Florence was a elementary school teacher, working in the Sylvania Schools for 9 years followed by the Toledo Public Schools for another 9 years.  She also taught at Jerusalem School in the Oregon School System for 12 years before her retirement in 1973. She was a member of Alpha Xi Delta, PEO Chapter AL and Delta Kappa Gamma.  Florence also delivered Meals on Wheels from St. Charles Hospital for 25 years.   Surviving are her daughter, Christine (Larry) Jacobson; sister, D. Aileen Strong; grandchildren, Kimberly (Scott) Wylie, Pamela and Rebecca; great grandsons, Jacob and Allan Wylie   Friends may call in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road where visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 9 pm.  Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 am in First St. John's Lutheran Church where visitation will begin at 10:00am.  Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in LaSalle, Michigan at 2:00 pm.  The family suggests memorial contributions in Florence's memory be made to the Miller-Baker Book Scholarship Fund at Bowling Green State University or First St. John Lutheran Church.
