Florence I. Ostapowicz, 92, of Toledo, and formerly of Richmond, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
She was born in Gibsonburg, Ohio on January 15, 1919 to Oscar and Eva (Ottney) Goal. On June 7, 1969, she married Bernie Ostapowicz. Florence was employed with the US Government as a supply clerk for 32 years, retiring in 1984. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.
Florence is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Michael) Bengela and Sue Linden; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen McCreight, Mary Nissen, and Jeanne Quinlivan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, Sammy and Peter, and brothers, Ervin and Charles.
Friends may call at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, on Friday, May 20th from 2:00 pm until time of funeral service at 5:00 pm. Private interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Richmond Virginia. Memorials may be directed to Lutheran Home at Toledo or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. The family wishes to thank the staff of Lutheran Home at Toledo and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the exceptional care and compassion they gave Florence.
