Florian "Bo" A. Schnee, 91, of Millbury, Ohio passed away peacefully, Wednesday December 5, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. He was born February 19, 1927, to William J. and Margaret (Drouillard) Schnee Sr. Bo attended Clay High School and served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Mr. Schnee served aboard the Fletcher Class Destroyer, USS Wiley of which he was a plank owner. Post WWII, he began his career as a Tool & Die Maker working alongside his father. Together they created the frame housing the US Constitution in Washington D.C. During his long and productive career, Bo worked at Inshield, Hilfinger and GM Powertrain. Bo married Betty Grosjean on August 20, 1949, enjoying nearly 70 years of marriage and raising 9 children. In his spare time, he was an all-around "Mr. Fixit" and wood craftsman; sharing his skills and donating his time to both family and church. Bo was an active lifelong parishioner of St Ignatius Catholic Church.
His memory will continue to be cherished by his wife, Betty; children, Gary (Mary Ann), Sandy Vascik, Fred (Ruth), Randy, Sherry Stella, Peggy (Dave) Donley, Kevin (Luellen), Mary Vogel and Joel (Kay); 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Leo Schnee; sisters, Emma (Bill) Harmer and Agnes Dehar. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward Schnee, William Schnee and Leroy "Shadow" Nickels; sister, Mary Margaret Donaldson; and son-in-law, Deacon Richard Vascik.
The family will receive friends at the at Eggelston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 12:00 pm in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 212 N. Stadium Road, Oregon, where the family will greet friends beginning at 11:00 am. Interment: St. Ignatius Cemetery.
