Floyd "Pops" Pierce, 72, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020. Floyd was born January 31, 1948 to George and Rosella (LaCourse) Pierce in Toledo, Ohio. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and worked over 40 years in building maintenance and appliance repair. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed waterfowl and large game hunting in Michigan and Alaska.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bonnie; children, Amy (Rich Eberflus) Hanudel, Sherry (Leo) Gonzales, April (Chuck) Johnson, Ed Pierce, Jeannie Romer, Delilah (Butch) Brigham, Floyd "A.J." (Christina) Pierce, and Chris (Heather Shultz) Pierce; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Sandy) Pierce, Becky (Tom) Clark, and George Pierce; and prior sons-in-law, Steve Hanudel and Chuck Romer. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Pippy and Grammie LaCourse; and siblings, Jackie Pierce and Paul Sprauer.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 South Coy Road on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 1:00 pm until time of funeral service at 4:00 pm. Masks and social distancing guidelines will be observed. Private family graveside and military honors will be held at later date. Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project.
