Francis L. Hayes, 82, of Sandusky, Ohio and formerly of Miami Street in Toledo passed away Monday, August 24, 2003 in Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. Francis was employed by the former A&P Food Stores where he served as assistant manager of the store at Starr and Main Streets in East Toledo. Upon its closing he worked for the Ohio Citizens Bank until his retirement. Mr. Hayes was a accomplished organist and a strong supporter of Central Catholic High School. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call in the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel where visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 9 pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 am and proceeded to Good Shepherd Church for the Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to either Good Shepherd Church of Central Catholic High School.
