Francisco Algarin, 78 of Martin, Ohio passed away peacefully in his residence with his family at his side. Francisco was born in Canovanas, Puerto Rico to Marcelino and Alejandrina (Santiago) Algarin on January 31, 1934. He had retired from Henry Meat Packaging Company in 1992 after 20 years of service. Francisco was an active member of Our Lady Lourdes Catholic Church, Genoa where he was a Eucharistic Minister ordained in 1988. He also took communion to the home bound parishioners. Francisco also served as an usher. He was a Third Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. Francisco was not only very dedicated to his church, but also his religion. He will always be remembered as a man who enjoyed his family, whether it was playing his favorite game, dominos, having them over for his talent of roasting pigs or just being with his family.
Surviving are his loving wife, Ignacia; children, Dan (Virg), Jim (Eva), Frank Jr. Algarin, Angela Boltz; grandchildren, Jason, Miranda, Jessica, Sarah, Christopher, Melissa, Kori, Justin, Tony; great-grandchildren, Adam, Brady, and 2 on the way; siblings, Anibal, Alcides, Abraham, Maria, Delia, Lumin, Julia, Minevera. Francisco was preceded in death by his parents; son, David and his brother, Eduardo.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) where prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. officiated by Fr. David Ritchey and Fr. James Say in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 204 Main Street, Genoa, Ohio and where the family will greet friends beginning at 9:30 Am. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
