Frank Cruthers, 84, of Curtice, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Orchard Villa. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 30, 1926 to Frank Sr. and Mildred (Figard) Cruthers. Frank was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served during WWII. He had been employed by Standard Oil and BP for 40 years, retiring in 1989. Frank enjoyed music, especially country music, and enjoyed playing the mandolin. He was an avid bingo player, enjoyed going to casinos, and loved camping in the outdoors. Frank was a member of St. John'™s UCC, Genoa, and a life-time member of Dunberger Post #537 and the VFW Post #9816.
Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Gloria; sons, Gary (Linda), Kim (Judy) and Shane (Anna) Cruthers; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; siblings, Melvin (Belle) Cruthers, Connie Hughes, Charles Melius and Robert (Shirley) Melius; special friends, John and Joyce Weber, and Judy and Clyde Hall. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Bud Cruthers.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road on Sunday, February 27, 2011 from 1-8 p.m. with Dunberger Post services at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Allen Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Frank'™s memory may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or charity of the donor'™s choice.
