Frank Meyers, Jr., 80 years old, of Oregon OH, died at home on January 11, 2022 after a brief illness. Born and raised in Toledo OH, Frank lived his entire life within two miles of his boyhood home. For him, though, it was the entire world. Living on Toledo's East Side, he was a 1959 graduate of Waite High School. In 1963, he married the only girl he ever loved, Barbara. She survives him, and was with him in his last moments. Apart from his deep faith, having Barb at his side was his peace and his joy. Home was with her, for 58 years. With Barb, he had two daughters, who also survive him: Kathleen of Jackson MI; and Jacqueline (Eric) of Las Vegas NV. Frank loved his daughters, telling them on many occasions how proud he was of them for the lives they created, whether by raising a loving child or working to make the world a better place. In so many ways, they are reflections of their father. Some of the finest memories he created were made in the first and only home he ever owned, with the family he and Barb created, filling it with music, love, stories, conversations, faith, and laughter. Frank worked for Columbia Gas of Ohio as a pipefitter and later as a large volume services regulator for 36 years, retiring in 1996. He was a talented guitarist with a love of bluegrass and early country music. He shared this love of music, teaching guitar lessons for 13 years, much of it through the former Grinnells Music Studio. A man of deep faith, Frank taught Sunday School at First St. John Lutheran Church of Toledo for 55 years, nurturing the faith of several generations. In addition to his wife, daughters, and son-in-law, Frank is survived by his grandson, Jude Kevern, who shares his grandfather's great love of music. Also surviving are numerous friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews; his brother Bill (Joyce) Meyers, of Casselbury FL; sister, Candace (Jerry) Webster of Bradford VT. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Sr. and Martha Meyers, and brother, Dennis Meyers. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 South Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Sunday, January 16, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. To honor this life well lived, funeral services will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at First St. John Lutheran Church, 2471 Seaman Road, Toledo, Ohio, where the family and friends can gather beginning at 9:30 a.m. To keep everyone healthy, COVID-19 protocols will be observed. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Frank's memory to St Jude Children's Hospital or First St John Lutheran Church, Toledo Ohio.
