Frederick T. Everhardt, 89, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, May 9, 2018, surrounded by loved ones, with his wife Faye reminiscing on their 62 year love story. Fred was born in Northwood, Ohio on November 18, 1928 to Cleo and Gladys (Skidmore) Everhardt. During the Korean War, Fred served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers. On October 29, 1955, he married the love of his life, Faye Newhouse. He worked as an engineer with Teledyne and Rathbun Jones Engineering Firms; and retired from Chrysler Toledo Machining in 1993. His memberships included: St. Paul United Methodist Church, Millbury and Genoa Masonic Lodge, where he served as Past Master. For the past 24 years, Fred and Faye enjoyed spending the winter watching the sunrise and sunset in Sarasota, Florida. Fred and Faye were avid square dancers and camped in more than 40 states and Canadian Provinces. He was proud to share a birthday with Mickey Mouse and shared in a 60th birthday celebration at Walt Disney World in 1988.
Fred is survived by his wife of 62 years, Faye; children; Vicki Schwamberger, Michael (Amy) Everhardt and Thomas (Janet) Everhardt; grandchildren, Joseph (Corissa) Everhardt, Joshua Everhardt, Grayson Everhardt, Samuel Everhardt, Johnny Cuevas, Andy Cuevas, Ashley Cuevas, and Chris Cuevas; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Ian; siblings, Paul (Gertrude) Everhardt, Jerald (Pat) Everhardt, Helen Krzeszowski, Evelyn Morelock, and Linda Bristow; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Dean Schwamberger; sister, Clara Roepke; and grandson, Tony Elder.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville, Road (east of I-280) on Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm, where a Masonic Lodge service will be held at 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Lake Township Police Department or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Fred's family wishes to Thank Dr. Mark Nadaud for his tender care and Nicole, Ellen, and Tammy with Hospice of Northwest Ohio, for making Fred's final days peaceful.
