Frederick L. Thomas, 82, of Toledo, Ohio passed away August 12, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 1, 1926 to Frank and Allie (Porter) Thomas.  Fred was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II.  He had been employed for 37 ½ years as a shipping clerk at the Mellowcraft Company, retiring in 1988. Freds memberships included the American Legion Arthur Daly Post #334, Friends of the Library, East Toledo Historical Society and the Stamp Collectors Club of Toledo. Surviving are his step-sons, James (Carol) and John Dupuis; brother, Robert (Gail) Thomas; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Fred is also survived by special companion, Ethel Lewis and her family. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence; son, William "Red"; step-sons, Harold and Donald Dupuis. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Friday, August 15, 2008 from 2-9 p.m.  Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. with interment following in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
