Garvin C. Lassiter, 78, of Genoa, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2010 in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born in Graves county Kentucky on April 11, 1932 to Eddie and Almeda (Brown) Lassiter. Garvin was a journeyman ceramic tile setter for over 50 years and a lifetime member of the International Bricklayers and Allied Craftman #3 of Ohio. He was the owner along with his best friend Rick Dartt of R & L Tile. He and his late wife, 'œFaye' also owned and managed the Lassiter'™s Motel for years in Genoa. Mr. Lassiter was a member of Frey Road Church of Christ. Garvin was an avid bluegrass music fan. He also enjoyed quiet days on the porch with his endearing companion, Lophelia 'œFaye' Delphous.
Surviving are his daughters, Carolyn Faye (Melvin) Blausey and Janice K. Daman; son, John Howard (Anne) Lassiter; brother, Eddie (Ginny) Lassiter; 8 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Garvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delilah 'œFaye'; children, James Lee and Michelle Lynn Lassiter; brother, Darrell Lassiter.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Monday from 2 to 9 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Garvin'™s memory may be made to the American Heart Society.
