Gary L. Matney, 40, of Northwood, Ohio passed away unexpectedly in a boating accident on Saturday, June 30, 2018. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 19, 1978 to Gary and Cindy (Finley) Matney. Gary was a member of Local Union 886 where he worked as a concrete finisher. On July 12, 2004, Gary would marry the love of his life, Terry (Sharpe). Gary was given the nickname "G-Money" at a young age, possibly because he would spare no expense to provide the best for his family. He was very passionate and strived to meet any goal he set. Gary took great pride in providing for his family and anyone that needed something. He had the ability to light up any room, poking fun at anyone, sometimes to the point of exhaustion. He loved cars, shoes, hats, sports, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes and the San Francisco 49'ers. Gary and Terry became known as a power couple in their group because they always looked out for others, sometimes taking them under their guidance when loss struck. He led by example and lived for making his family and children happy. Gary will surely be missed by all who knew him
Gary is survived by his wife of 14 years, Terry; children, Gary Jr., Gage, Breonna, Brennen, Breyden; sisters, Heather (Darell) June, Carolyn Matney, Jami (Anthony) Velez, Jennifer (Marco) Kelly; grandparents, Karen (Denis) Grubb sister-in-law, Brandi (Semaj) Curry; mother-in-law, Devy Sharpe; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family members and friends, especially the Pecina family.
