Gary C. Oberhaus, 62, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at his residence. Gary was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 8, 1955 to Donald and Joan (Allen) Oberhaus. On October 28, 2000, he married Patricia Monday. For 37 years, Gary was a self-employed owner / operator hauling steel. He was a dedicated fan of the Cleveland Browns and OSU. Gary also was a World War II enthusiast. His hobbies included: riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, driving his Corvette, model railroading, and model airplanes. Gary's true passion was spending time with his family; especially his grandchildren and his pets.
Gary is survived by his wife of 16 years, Patricia; children, Rebecca Dazley (Daniel Vanisacker), and Elizabeth Heschel (Steven Day II) ; step-children, Holly (Brad) McCormick, and Marcus Monday; grandchildren, Peyton Heschel and Maximus Day; step-grandchildren, Brad Jr., Hannah, and Blake McCormick; brother, Terry Oberhaus (Kathy Bloomfield) and sisters, Pamela Oberhaus and Kimberly Oberhaus. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Toledo Humane Society or Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio.
