Gene Ellen was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 22, 1919 to William and Charlotte (Steadman) Taylor. On August 21, 1937, she married Robert C. Herrick. Among her talents were: playing the organ; crocheting afghans and baby clothes for her family; and in later years, painting with oils, particularly flowers and lighthouses. Gene will be remembered for the love she had for her family. Gene is survived by her children, Robert C. Herrick Jr. and Jeanne Sutphin; grandchildren, Robert C. (Patty) Herrick III, Alice (Chad) Schreiber, Brian (Erica) Herrick, Daniel Sutphin, Brad (Louise) Sutphin, and Jeana (Dale) Gernert; great-grandchildren, Robert IV, Nicholas, Matthew, Jacob, Bella, Gage, Amaya, Kaidyn, Kamden, Raylee, Bradley (Lauren), Beverly (Andy), Joseph and Francesca; brother, Robert (Mona) Taylor; sister, Charlotte Everhardt; and sister-in-law, Elva Taylor.
