Gene H. Meek, 77 of Northwood, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Gene was born in Killen, Alabama on October 1, 1938 to Hollis and Moteaze (LaMarr) Meek. He was employed as a glassworker at LOF Pilkington for over 30 years. Gene was a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed gambling, horse racing and attending car shows. He was a member of the Cruise-Ins Car Club. Surviving is his son, Jeffery (Robyn) Meek; brother, Samuel Meek; son-in-law, Timothy Steedman; grandchildren, Joshua (Katie Corbitt) Steedman, Abigail (Caleb) Puariea and Amanda (Justin Stowe) Meek; great grandchild, Carter Stowe, with one more future great grandchild on the way; and former wife Shanna Meek. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Horace Meek; and daughter, Julie Steedman. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11 from 2-8 pm at Eggleston Meinert & Pavely Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 South Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday, October 12, at 11 am. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
