George Harry Abbott, 73, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. George was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 2, 1936 to Calvin and Isabelle (Banks) Abbott. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. George retired in 1999 from J & S Machine Shop. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. George loved to spend time at home with his family. Surviving is his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia; children, Colleen A. Abbott, George (Laura) Abbott Jr., Jana (Matt) Steinbrecher; grandchildren, Brittanie, Brandyn, Bryan Hurst, Antonio and Adrianna Chapa, Jordan and Drew Abbott, Rachael, Mathew, Jalen and Peytin Steinbrecher; great-grandchild, Christapher Layman. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon where his funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
