George F. Cox, 82, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at St. Vincent's Hospital. He was born in Beach Grove, Tennessee on November 16, 1938 to Berry and Anne (Wallas) Cox. On July 27, 1964 he married Celia (McCallum). George proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He loved watching horseracing and playing poker with his friends and family. George is survived by his wife of 56 years, Celia; children, Charlotte (Jeff) Kelly, Janet (Rodney Amerson) Decair, Berry Cox, James (Sarah) Cox, Sidney Smith; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Wanda Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Beverly Cox and 5 siblings. Friends and family may visit Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. Oregon, Ohio, 43616 on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 2:00 pm-8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery.
