Obituary

GEORGE JOSEPH EVANOFF, JR., age 56, of Northwood, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014, surrounded by his loving family at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. George was a lifetime resident of the Toledo area, attending Oakdale Elementary, Waite High School, and Bowling Green State University. George had a successful 35-year career in the furniture industry. He began as a warehouse stock boy and worked his way up to General Manager of Banner Mattress. George'™s savvy business sense and vision helped grow the store into 3 additional locations. Later, George used his experience and knowledge in the furniture industry to support the expansion of the Appliance Center home store. George kept his spiritual beliefs close to his heart, and family was especially important to him. He was fun-loving, and proud of his beautiful daughter Stacey (deceased), granddaughter Rayne, and son Brandon. As an avid cheese-head, George shared his love of the Green Bay Packers with his children! 'œLike father-like-son', his cheese-head son Brandon loved to tease him about hopping on his Harley, or squeezing into his Mini-Cooper, because of his fascination with 'œBourne-Identity'. In 2002, George married the love of his life, Judy (Cole), and together they strived to 'œlive, laugh, love' every day. Through their marriage, George gained three beautiful step-daughters, a wonderful son-in-law, and several precious grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy, and beautiful daughter, Stacey. George was also preceded in death by his parents, George Evanoff, Sr. and Joanne Evanoff. Surviving to cherish his memory and legacy are his son, Brandon Evanoff; brother, Greg (Patti); sister, Nancy (John), nieces, Myla, and Isabella; step-children Angela (Brad) Blandin, Sarah Hawley, Annie Hawley; grandchildren, Rayne, Ali, Kaden, Grace, Jarrett, Zachary, Anaya, and Morgann; mother-in-law, Glenice Cole.
