George Pete Felaris, 66, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away January 30, 2009, at his home. George was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 9, 1942 to Peter Felaris and Olga (Scoulous) Felaris Legeza. George graduated from Waite High School in 1960 where he was an All-City Championship bowler. He worked as a Stevedore for Toledo Overseas Terminal for ten years, and then as an Iron Worker for Local 55, retiring after 38 years. George was a member of the VFW Post 4906, the Knights of Columbus and St. Stephen's Church. He enjoyed getting ice cream with his grandsons, casino trips and taking walks at Collin's Park with his dog, Sebastian. Long days in the sun, regattas, boating on the lake, and a cold drink were no strangers to him. Thanks for the good times, we will cherish the memories, for you will be dearly missed by family and friends. Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Carol (Horak) Felaris; son, Peter (Liz) Felaris; daughter, Diana Felaris; brothers, Mickey Felaris, James Felaris, Frank Legeza, and Terry Legeza; sisters, Katherine Pattay, Linda Fox, Cynthia (Dominick) Cappiello; stepfather, Frank Legeza; grandsons, Nicholas and Owen Felaris; brother-in-law, George (Norma) Horak; sister-in-law, Jeanne Saba; and many nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law, Edward Pattay, and Anthony Fox. Visitation will be held from 2 until 9 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel with recitation of the rosary at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Monday at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to Sacred Heart Church for 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial.
