George Tschann, 92, of Oregon, Ohio passed away March 19, 2012 at Toledo Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 10, 1919 to Remy and Odile Tschann. George was a great entrepreneur and man of many occupations. He was owner of Nash Auto Dealership and built Oregon Lanes. George was a great humanitarian. In his life time he planted over 2,000 shade trees on 15 acres of land and then donated the acres to Cardinal Stritch High School. He was a loving and caring man, and cared deeply for his family. George was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Surviving are his loving wife of 9 years, Carrie and 4 children, 3 step children and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son and 3 sisters.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 4-9 p.m. with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Willow Cemetery.
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered come live with me. With tearful eyes we watched you suffer and saw you fading away, we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stops beating, your hardworking hands put to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. God will love you and keep you until we meet someday.
