George L. Winkle 92 of Sylvania, Ohio passed away peacefully at ProMedica Flower Hospital, on Monday, March 10, 2025 with his family by his side. George was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 13, 1932 to Herbert Joseph and Luella Margaret (Harrison) Winkle. He was a graduate of Macomber High School. George served his country during the Korean War where he was enlisted with the United States Air Force. He was retired from L.O.F. where he was employed for over 30 yrs.

Surviving are his children, Lizbeth (Jeff) Reiner, Ann (Bob) Heisler, Joan Harrison, (Bill Harrison), Paul (Emily) Winkle; grandchildren, Andrew Heisler, Alex (Cameron) Reiner, William Harrison, Caroline (Zach) Millwood, Jacob Harrison, Joshua Harrison, Mary Winkle, Ben Heisler, Abby Heisler and Page Winkle; Great Grandchildren, Bradley and Max Millwood. George was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Jane, and brothers Bob and Bill.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon where Military Honors will be presented at 5:00 pm. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Cherry Street Missions, Toledo, Ohio.
