Gerald Lynn Cunningham, 86, of Petersburg, Michigan passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. Gerald was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 2, 1933 to Harry and Beulgh (Mauter) Cunningham. Gerald was an Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War. Gerald married the love of his life, Eleanore Hartford, on April 7, 1953. He worked as a welder for many years, before retiring from Jeep. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and painting ceramic angels. He loved spending time with his large family. Gerald is survived by his children, Gerald Cunningham Jr., Peggy Wyatt, Waneda Cunningham, Robert Cunningham, Nancy Cunningham, Tina (Doug) Dennis, James (Jenny) Cunningham, Mary Cunningham, O'Dell (Pam) Cunningham and Sherrie (Tim) Cunningham; 26 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Eleanore; parents; children, Pam Cherry, Kenneth Cunningham and Skip Cunningham; and siblings, Nancy Wilson, Betty Sexton, Edna Voss, Yvonne Cutcher, Joyce Jacob, Skipper Cunningham and Norma Miller. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday, January 13, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in North Oregon Cemetery.
