Gerald "Jerry" Lyle Harris was born on May 9, 1949. He passed away peacefully with his wife and daughter by his side on August 11, 2026.

Jerry was the sixth of eight children born to Oscar and Hilda (Pederson) Harris in Oregon, Ohio. He was a 1968 graduate of Clay High School, where he excelled in the sport of wrestling. He placed 4th in the 1967 All-State Championship and was the 1968 League Champion and an All-State Championship qualifier.

After high school, Jerry joined the local 55 Iron Workers Union, where he worked until retiring at the age of 62. He was an avid fisherman and an all-around handyman who could fix just about anything.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Carolyn Harris; daughters Terina Bubb and Kelly (Roland) Hambrick; stepchildren Gina (Pat) Treece and Jason (Kelly) Jenkins; grandchildren Cody, Franco, Tyler, Beverly, Brittany, Payton, Joel, Heaven, Seth, Alex, and Dominic; 17 great-grandchildren; and brothers Wayne and Glenn Harris.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Linda, Danny, Ervin, Marvin, and Ellen.

Visitation will be held on August 13, 2026, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, 440 South Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio 43613. A special time of sharing and remembrance for family and friends will be held at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held on August 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with interment at Restlawn Memorial Park.

A wake will follow the service at Jerusalem Township Fire Hall, 9501 Jerusalem Road, Curtice, Ohio.
