Gerald R. Bauman, 80, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 31, 2013, in his home. He was born in Toledo, Ohio of November 6, 1932 to Kenneth and Lamoile (Leichtey) Bauman. Jerry was employed in the maintenance department at Grogan Chrysler Plymouth. He was a member and Past Treasurer of the Cooley Canal Yacht Club and also a member of the Walbridge Lake Fire Department. Jerry was an avid Browns and Buckeye Fan. Surviving are his sons, Barry (Joanne), Thomas (Debbi); daughters, Gail Sundermeier, Rebekah Root, and Karen (Richard) Murphy; brother, Donald (Grace) Bauman; sister, Shonna (John) Rodgers; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; special friend, Joan O'™Reagan. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and friends. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Phyllis; brother, Dennis; and grandchildren, Damien Bauman, Robert Kaetzel and Jose Romero III. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road on Monday from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or American Cancer Association.
