Gerald 'œJerry' C. Dunmyer, 92, of Northwood Ohio passed away February 9, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. He was born in Perrysburg on April 6, 1921 to Calvin and Cora (Neeb) Dunmyer. Jerry was a graduate of Pemberville High School. During his service in the U.S. Army in World War II, Jerry received 4 services medals, including 2 Bronze Stars and 1 Purple Heart. He was employed at Sun Oil Refinery as a welder for 42 years. Jerry'™s memberships include the Cooley Canal Yacht Club, where he served as a past Commodore, life-time member of the Pine Island American Legion, Moose Lodge and VFW.
Surviving are his loving wife of 69 years, Jean V.; children, Peggy (Denny) Asman, Roger (Dixie) Dunmyer and Kathy (Ken) Weaver; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; 5 siblings, Lila Willis, Vernon Dunmyer, Naomi Swartz, Elroy Dunmyer and Ruth Miller.
According to Jerry'™s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life Dinner will be held at the Christ Dunberger Post, 4925 Pickle Road, Oregon, OH on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or a charity of the donor'™s choice. Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.
