Gerald 'œJerry' C. Dunmyer, 92, of Northwood Ohio passed away February 9, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. He was born in Perrysburg on April 6, 1921 to Calvin and Cora (Neeb) Dunmyer. Jerry was a graduate of Pemberville High School. During his service in the U.S. Army in World War II, Jerry received 4 services medals, including 2 Bronze Stars and 1 Purple Heart. He was employed at Sun Oil Refinery as a welder for 42 years. Jerry'™s memberships include the Cooley Canal Yacht Club, where he served as a past Commodore, life-time member of the Pine Island American Legion, Moose Lodge and VFW. Surviving are his loving wife of 69 years, Jean V.; children, Peggy (Denny) Asman, Roger (Dixie) Dunmyer and Kathy (Ken) Weaver; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; 5 siblings, Lila Willis, Vernon Dunmyer, Naomi Swartz, Elroy Dunmyer and Ruth Miller. According to Jerry'™s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life Dinner will be held at the Christ Dunberger Post, 4925 Pickle Road, Oregon, OH on Thursday, February 13, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or a charity of the donor'™s choice.
