Jerry Klewer, 89, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Jerry was born August 21, 1931 in Toledo, Ohio to Kermit and Mildred (Limmer) Klewer. Jerry served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. In 1957, Jerry married Elaine Lehman. He joined the Toledo Police Department in 1958, being a member of the seventeenth class of the Toledo Police Academy. Jerry later worked in corporate security with Owens - Illinois, retiring in 1990. Jerry and Elaine enjoyed sailing Lake Erie on their sailboat "Sundog" often accompanied by friends. He enjoyed playing tennis, table tennis, basketball, hockey, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors.
Jerry is survived by his wife Elaine of 63 years; nephews, Kim (Nancy) Klewer, Keith (Cathy) Klewer, Mike Palumbo; niece, Maria Pankowski; and sister-in-law, Audrey (Tony) Palumbo. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kyle Klewer; and brother, James Klewer.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Saturday, May 22, 2021 from 10:00 am until time of memorial service at 11:00 am. Interment: Lake Township Cemetery.
