Gerald R. 'œJerry' Stern, 56, of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, passed away Friday, November 21, 2014, at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pennsylvania. Jerry was born on May 18, 1958, in Toledo, Ohio, to William and Agnes (Buckenmeyer) Stern. In 1976, Jerry graduated from Clay High School and worked various jobs in the Toledo area. In 1986, he moved to Pennsylvania, where he met the love of his life, Jayne Ierley, and they married on July 15, 1989. He was employed with TransCore, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for 25 years. At TransCore, Jerry worked as a telecommunications installer, and later as a supervisor whose team was responsible for the E-ZPass toll system.. He was a life member of the American Automobile Collectors Association and enjoyed classic cars. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman; sailing, boating, and fishing were among his favorites. He was one to make friends easily and had a gift for making people laugh with his quick-wit, which will be sorely missed. He is survived by his twin brother, Terrance Stern; sister, Leona (Mike) Mason; brother, Russell (Jane) Grover; nieces and nephews, Alexa Grover, Amy (Chris) Wahlgren, Chad Grover, Eric Stern, Brian (Talia) Cromwell, Laila Grover, Wyatt Wahlgren, Charlotte Wahlgren, Chase Cromwell, and Reese Cromwell. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Jayne. Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, where a memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm.
