Geraldine "Gerry" Deindoerfer, 89, formerly of Oregon, Ohio and Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Ottawa Riverview Health Care, Oak Harbor, OH. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 17, 1928 to Anthony and Ethel (Jackson) Vallas. She married Floyd Deindoerfer on May 25, 1946 and he preceded her in death in 2010. Gerry was a member of the Erie, Michigan VFW #3925 Ladies Auxiliary and was active with the Starr Elementary Mother's Club. Surviving are her daughters, Christina (Linden) Anderson and Janis (Bart) Flora; grandchildren, Mark and Anthony (Brandy) Anderson, Michelle (Nick) Shaw, Jarret and Allyson Flora; great-grandchildren, Avien Anderson, Sophia and Eliot Shaw; sister-in-laws, Viola Vallas and Shirley Bates. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Floyd and siblings, Christopher and William Vallas, Vivian Dobson, Doey Birr and Marge Vallas. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday, January 14, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11:00 am in the funeral home with interment following at Toledo Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
