Gerhard G. Handel, 74 of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 12, 2004 in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. Gerhard was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 24, 1929 to Kurt and Marie (Karl) Gerhard. He was employed with General Motors for 30 years retiring in 1983. He also was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the UAW and VFW of Romulus, MI. Surviving are his sons, Kenneth, Kevin and Michael (Marti) Haendel; daughters, Jacqueline and Suzanne Haendel; sister, Erika Hofenbocker and 14 andchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife,Evelyn. Friends and family may visit from 10 to 1 pm on Saturday, July 17, 2004 at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Avenue, where funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday. Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
