Gilbert W. Littlefield, 74, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. Gilbert was born on February 4, 1930, in Oswego, New York to Wesley and Louise (Proud) Littlefield. Mr. Littlefield was both a US Navy and Naval Reserve veteran. He was employed for many years as an engineer for Raytheon Engineering, formerly United Engineers, before his retirement in 1996. Gilbert was a big "Buckeye Fan" who also enjoyed autosports, and was an avid birdwatcher and fisherman. Surviving are his wife, Mary Elizabeth and sons, Gilbert II, Tom (Sue) and Andrew Littlefield. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Woodville Road Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road in Millbury where visitation will be Saturday from 2 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be private. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Gilbert's memory are asked to consider the either the American Heart Association or the Sandusky Veterans Hospital.
