Ginger Kern, 69, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Lima, Ohio on May 11, 1948 to Robert and Elsie (Schutt) Kern. Ginger graduated from Waite High School and went on to obtain an Associates Degree in Business. She later worked for the City of Toledo in the Human Resources department for 30 years before retiring in 1999. She was an avid New York Yankees fan, enjoyed gambling and scratch offs, but what she adored most was her family, especially her great nieces and nephews. She was a selfless woman with a kind soul and will be deeply missed. Ginger is survived by her siblings, Donna Smith, Robert Kern, Diane Jarzynski, Randy Kern, Debbie (Randy) Kirby; many nieces, nephews; and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary Kern; brother-in-laws, William Jarzynski and James Smith. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday, January 26, 2018 from 3:00 pm until the time of memorial services at 6:00 pm.
