Gladys Jennings, 90, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on May 28, 2021 at Elizabeth Scott Community in Maumee. She was born on May 31, 1930 in Toledo, Ohio to Ray and Evelyn (McNair) Robeson. Gladys was a 1948 graduate of Clay High School. She was employed at Libbey Glass for 10 years and drove school bus for Oregon Schools for 10 years. She volunteered her time as a Sunday School teacher for 25 years. In 1949, she married her beloved husband, Bill, whom she was married to for 50 years. They spent their retirement traveling to 48 states and devoting their time to their children and grandchildren. They spent the rest of their retirement in Florida, where they were very active at The Bay Ranch Residence Club. Gladys was secretary of the club and was also involved in their "Meals on Wheels" program. She also devoted her time to the United Way program in her area.
She is survived by her son, Lawrence (Karen) Jennings, Largo, FL; grandchildren, Todd, Scott and Mark Jennings, Terry Callihan, Heather Wallace, Kristi Witaszek, April Jennings and Holly Schwab; several great and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Jennings; daughter, Dianne Streight; son, Richard Jennings; brothers, Harold Robeson, Donald Robeson and George Robeson; sister, Blanche Murrey; parents; and infant grandchildren, Richard Jennings Jr. and John Nowakowski Jr.
In honor of her wishes, there will be no funeral service. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 4, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road. Interment will be private at North Oregon Cemetery.
