Gladys A. Pierson, 85, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 4, 2023 at her home. Gladys was born April 1, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio to William and Gladys (Smith) Metzger. In 1956, Gladys graduated from Central Catholic High School. She married the love of her life, John "Jack" Pierson October 2, 1965. Gladys was employed with Gulf Oil and later with the Ohio State Highway Patrol as a driver's license examiner, retiring in 2000.

Gladys is survived by her children, Joan (Mark) White, Nancy Pierson, David (Kyana) Pierson; grandchildren, Tori (David) Ferguson, Elisabeth (Alex) Blanchette, Andrew and Avery Pierson; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and dear friends, Barbara, Janet, Mona, Connie, Eleanor, and Carol. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; and siblings, John (Barbara) Metzger, James (Shirley) Metzger, William (Mary Lou) Metzger, Beatrice (William) Schabel, and Joanne (Nelson) DeFord.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023 from 2-8 pm at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, where the Rosary will be recited at 1:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial at Epiphany of the Lord Parish- St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 729 White Street, Toledo, Ohio Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 10:00 AM where the family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
