Obituary

Gladys I. Vislay, 88, of Northwood, Ohio passed away March 4, 2014 at Parkcliffe at Northwood. She was born in Millbury, Ohio on July 8, 1925 to John and Elizabeth (Niklas) Sehr. Before she was married, Gladys was employed at the Toledo Blade. She also worked in the Coffee Shop at St. Charles Hospital for 17 years. Gladys was a member of the GAF and the Swiss Singers. She was a very talented accordion player, playing for over 70 years. Gladys performed locally with the Smoke Creek Rangers. She was a founding member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Walbridge. Surviving are her daughters, Tricia Vislay, Oregon, OH and Joan Vislay, Colorado Springs, CO and sister, Mary McCann. Gladys is also survived by many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; great great nieces and nephews. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; infant children, Elaine and Louis Thomas Jr.; brothers, John and Herbert Sehr. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, on Friday from 2-8 p.m. with a scripture service at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 8, 2014 in St. Jerome'™s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to Parkcliffe at Northwood, St. Jerome'™s Ladies Auxiliary or the charity of the donor'™s choice.
