Gloria 'œJean' Schabel, 63 of Genoa, Ohio, passed away April 6, 2011 at home surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born on July 17, 1947 to Ernest and Evelyn (Chambers) Zunk. She was a geriatric nursing assistant for 10 years. Jean also owned and operated the Pet Library therapy program for 8 years. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, gardening, volunteering at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo and spending time with her family. Jean was an active member of Cedar Creek Church where she served as a greeter. Jean is survived by her husband of 18 years, Steven Schabel; children, Bobbi Jo (Gene) Cook, Jodi (Bill) Reinhart, Troy (Denise) Sloyer, Scotty (Amy) Sloyer; brothers, Leonard and Danny Zunk; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Calvin Zunk. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Creek Church, 29129 Lime City Road, Perrysburg, OH, where the family will greet visitors beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Harris Elmore Union Cemetery.
