We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Golden "Goldie" Ray Durham, at the age of 90, on May 8, 2026. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.
Goldie married Guelda Brown in Hohenwald, TN in 1954. They moved to Toledo in 1956. Guelda passed away in 1991 after 37 years of marriage. Goldie married Cindy Hyndman in 1993 and they enjoyed 32 years together.
Goldie was born and raised in Hohenwald, TN, a place he dearly loved. He went back "home" as often as possible.
He worked at Commercial Metal Spinning for 54 years, which later became Calphalon.
Goldie was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, baptized in 1951. He attended Western Avenue Church of Christ, and then Echo Meadows Church of Christ in Oregon, Ohio, where he served as a teacher, greeter, usher, care-giver, and deacon.
Goldie was a true southern gentleman, and a gentle man.
Goldie was preceded in death by his parents, Colonel and Wayman Durham; first wife, Guelda Durham; daughter, Theresa Gonzalez; infant son, Michael Ray; and brothers, Clovis "Toby", Gene, William, and Tommy Durham.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Cindy Durham; brother, Cranford (Glinda) Durham; brother-in-law, Chuck (Pam); nephews CJ (Amy), and Jon (Brooke) Hyndman; sister-in-law, Debbie Hyndman; close niece, Courtney (Andrew) Gribble and their children, Morgan, Harper, Jack, Ethan, Norah; special family friend, MacKenzie Auger; and son-in-law, Ernie Gonzalez.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until the start of Goldie's celebration of life at 1:00 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. Inurnment will be private for Goldie's family at Restlawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Goldie's name are asked to consider, Echo Meadows Church of Christ.
