Gordon J. Peterson, 86, of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at his home. He was born August 26, 1935 in Port Clinton, Ohio to Gordon Earl and Vivian (Hamann) Peterson. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. During military service, he married the love of his life Bernice Felder April 15, 1958. For over 40 years, Gordon was employed with US Gypsum as a mechanic, retiring in 1990. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, was a longtime Lake Erie boater, and member of the Port Clinton Moose Lodge. He is survived by his daughters, Cathy (Bob) Inscore, Teresa (Gary) Bowser, and Lisa Nickel; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Danny, Dianne, Karen, and Roger. Preceded in death by his parents; wife of 53 years, Bernice; daughter, Sandra Crawford; and siblings, Cathy & Jimmy. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 10:00 am in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton, Ohio. Expressions of sympathy may be directed in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or Southern Care Hospice.
