Gordon M. Rate Jr., age 77, of Toledo, OH, passed away on June 11, 2026. He was born on September 27, 1948, to the late Gordon Rate Sr. and Virginia Rate. Gordon was retired from the BP Refinery, where he worked for more than 40 years. His fondest memories were of his time spent playing football at Waite High School, where he excelled as an offensive tackle. He is survived by his three daughters: Deanna (Steve) Williams, Denise (Jeff) Ling, and Dana (Nicolas) Brentlinger; five grandchildren; his sister, Wendy Kimble; his brother, Charles Rate; and his former wife of 15 years, Marsha Lorenzen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Miekis. The family will hold a private ceremony to mark his passing.
