Gordon W. Wendt, 93 of Oregon, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. He was born in Genoa, Ohio on June 1, 1919 to Paul and Amelia Wendt. Gordon had worked and retired from the Oregon School System where he had as a custodian for Clay High School. His love was music, playing the accordion in many bands. He played his last gig at the age of 91. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Thomas Smith; grandchildren. Lauren, Jeff and Mark Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia. Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio, on Tuesday from 2 until the time of funeral services at 7:00 p.m. Private Interment will take place at Willow Cemetery.
