Grace M. "Mee-Maw" Power, 76, of east Toledo passed away Saturday, January 26, 2008, at Bay Park Community Hospital after a long illness. Grace was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 13, 1931, to Walter and Arvilla (Baumgartner) Skidmore. She had worked as a bartender for the Toledo Sports Arena for 24 years. Grace enjoyed cookouts in the yard and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren who affectionately named her "Mee-Maw".
Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Robert M.; children, Karen Large, Jeff Power; sister, Betty Jahns; brother, Pete (Lee) McClusky; grandchildren, Joe (Kathy) Large, Jeff (Jeni) Large, Stephanie (Tony) Segura, Jason Large; 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Skidmore and Arvilla McClusky; her son-in-law Chester "Joe" Large.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Monday from 5-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Grace's memory are asked to consider her family.
