Obituary

Pastor Grace Nancy Roberts, 94, of Oregon, Ohio graduated into God's Kingdom on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at Arbors of Oregon. She was born in Brady, Texas on May 11, 1914, to Ed and Edna (Williams) Underwood. Grace was pastor of the Nation Gospel Tabernacle for over 50 years. During Sister Roberts ministry, many miracles were wrought, cancers were healed, and blind eyes could see. A baby was brought for prayers in 1980 with a cleft palate, prior to surgery the doctor examined the baby and found the infant to be totally healed. One could phone Sister Roberts day or night for prayer. She was a mighty woman of God. Surviving are her children, Verna Adams, Helen (Charles) Waymaster, Velma (Ronald) Karchefski, and Daniel (Emma); brother; Elton Underwood; 11 grandchildren; many great-grand-children and great-great-grand-children; nieces; nephews, and charter member, secretary, and pianist, Peggy Riley. Grace was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren; son, William; grandson, Steven; sister, Modele Stoop, and son-in-law, Thurman Adams. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 until 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 until 9 p.m. at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel. Rev. James Fleming will officiate services in the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2009. Interment will follow in Willow Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Grace's memory can be made to Nation Gospel Tabernacle, 5763 Seaman Rd., Oregon, OH 43616. "Absent from the Body, Present with the Lord."
