Grant W. Whitaker, 83, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. Grant was born in Toledo, Ohio on January 20, 1939 to Grant and Ethel (Flood) Whitaker. He graduated from Macomber High School in 1957 and later joined the US. Navy. Grant worked in many roles and as a superintendent for Schindler Elevators for over 22 years, before retiring in 2003. He was a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of the North American Hunt Club and a past secretary of the Lake Erie Wild Fowlers. He is survived by his children, Terri Gott, and Grant (Lou Ann) Whitaker, nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren, sister Judy (Ron) Miller, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice Whitaker; son, Kevin; daughter, Beth; grandson, Mathew Whitaker; and stepdaughter, Kimberley Butler; sisters Carol and Sue. Funeral services will be private. The family asks that any expressions of sympathy be directed to ProMedica Ebeid Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
