Gwendoline Joy Tober, 85, formerly of Rossford, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2010 in the Lutheran Home at Toledo. Mrs. Tober was born in Detroit on November 19, 1925 to John and Gwendoline (Oliver) Kirkman. She was employed as a registered nurse at St. Vincent Hospital and later in life for Dr. John Gallagher'™s office in Rossford, Ohio before her retirement in 1975. Gwendoline was a member of Rossford United Methodist Church and had been active in the areas Girl Scout program and various mother'™s clubs in the Rossford school system. She spent most of her life as a loving care giver for her family, using her nursing skills to care for her parents, in laws, husband and daughter until their deaths. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard in 1996. Surviving are her children, Deborah (Wendell) James. Richard K. Tober, Claire (Thomas) Lincoln, Alicia (John) Wagner; grandchildren, Stacy St. Julian, Jonathan (Stacy) St. Julian, Ryan (Amy) Tober, Erik Layman, Erin (Jared) Zafer, Jennifer (John) Helton, Matthew (Melissa) James, Jeffery (Melissa) Lincoln and 11 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by the parents and daughter, Rickie M. Layman. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 10 am in Rossford United Methodist Church where the family will welcome visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Interment will be private. The family suggests memorial contributions in Gwen'™s memory be made to Rossford United Methodist Church, Lutheran Home of Toledo or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
