H. Sally Christiansen, 84, of Northwood, Ohio went to be with her Savior on Sunday, January 4, 2015. Sally was born on July 11, 1930 to Warren and Hope (Weaver) Turner. Sally was a native of Rhode Island and graduated from Cranston High School. She met her husband Jim on a blind date, while he was stationed with the US Navy in Rhode Island. After raising her children, Sally worked at Lasalle'™s and Merle Norman at the Woodville Mall. In later years, she worked for Oregon Public Schools as a teacher'™s aid. Sally was an avid square dancer and a member of many clubs including Buckeye Squares and Diamond Cutters. As a member of New Harvest Christian Church, she enjoyed greeting and singing in the choir. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Jim to all 50 states. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Sally is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, James H. Christiansen; children, Cynthia Newton, Glenn (Toni), Douglas (Tina), and John (Debbie); grandchildren, Amy (Anthony) Archer, Amanda (Kyle) Theisen, Ashley (Gregory) Gilbert, Aubrey (Seth) King, Brenna, Lorissa, Shanna, Abigail, Sarah, and Matthew Christiansen; great-grandsons; Ezekiel and Noah Gilbert, and Baby Theisen. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 South Coy Road, Oregon, on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 2:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on January 10, 2015 at 11:00 am in New Harvest Christian Church, 3540 Seaman Rd, Oregon, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 am. Expressions of sympathy in Sally'™s memory may be given to the Alzheimer Association or New Harvest Christian Church.
