Harold M. Bachar, 89, of Toledo, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2003 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Harold was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 13, 1913 to Morton and Lulu (Kopp) Bachar. He was employed with the former Toledo Scale as a machinist for 34 years, retiring in 1978. Harold was a member of Unity United Methodist Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Maumee, Ohio.
Harold enjoyed playing the guitar,and was a band member in the Fran-Chet Tones band and Mary Baker Trio. He was 80 years old when he played his last gig. Harold also enjoyed playing golf and bowling.
Surviving are his son, Tim (Charlene) Bachar, Toledo, OH; daughter, Susan (Bruce)Spang, Toledo; brother, William J. (Doris) Bachar, Walbridge, OH; grandson, Christopher (Wendy) Frick, Perrysburg, OH; 4 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Nathan, Gabrielle and Ford Frick; 3 step-grandchildren, Todd, Brent and Jason Spang. Harold was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Mary.
Visitation will be held in the Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, from 2 to 5pm and 7-9 pm, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 14, 2003. Interment will be in Willow Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
