Obituary

Harold H. Bucher, 83, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 5, 2004 in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Harold was born on July 10, 1920 in Whitehouse, Ohio to Harve and Catherine (Studer) Bucher. He was a US Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Medical Corp at Erie Ordinance Depot. Mr.Bucher was employed at the former United Home Federal Savings and Loan for 34 years, serving as an assistant vice president when he retired in 1984. He was a member of the Downtown Toledo Optomists Club and the Heritage Senior Citizens Club. Harold attended both Unity (Oakdale) United Methodist Church and Community of Christ Lutheran Church. Surviving are his loving wife, Loretta, children, Marilyn (William) Umlauf, Diane (Frank) Okonski, Beverly (James) Howard, Patricia (Timothy) Roth, Daniel (Kathy) Bucher, Kenneth (Sharon) Bucher; special niece and nephews, Deronda Gay Raynes, David and James Schmuhl; 27 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ruth and sister, Loretta Schmuhl. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Larry Keeler and Rev. Richard Ferne on Friday, January 9, 2004 at 11:00 am in Unity United Methodist Church, 441 Oakdale Avenue, Toledo, OH. Friends may call in the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Oregon, Ohio where visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 9 pm. Interment will be in Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Harold's memory may be made to the building fund of either Unity United Methodist Church or Community of Christ Lutheran Church, Whitehouse, OH.
